Even if 2021 was not as much of a dumpster fire year as 2020, it still had its moments.
From continuing election drama in the United States to the ongoing challenges of a global pandemic and all the changes that came with it, we are all excited to ring in a new year and, hopefully, more normal days.
For Nigeria, the citizens should always remember the words enshrined in the current constitution:
“Sovereignty (supreme authority and power) belongs to the people of Nigeria from whom government through this Constitution derives all its powers and authority”
– Chapter 2. Section 14(2a). Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
Nigerians must be prepared to fire criminal politicians that have run the country to the ground. The election in 2023 presents an opportunity for Nigerians to elect and hire diligent leaders that are committed to serving the people of Nigeria, first.
As we usher in the new year, we must recommit to looking after ourselves, and each other.
And most of all, we must show kindness to all.
